Celebrating National Sandwich Month with our Favorite Recipes

NatlSandwichMonth.png

When it comes to food holidays, August has some of the best celebrations in delicious eats. August 2nd is National Ice Cream Sandwich Day, August 20th is National Bacon Lovers Day (my personal favorite!) and the month ends on a high note with National Toasted Marshmallow Day on August 30th. Best of all, the whole month has been declared National Sandwich Month, a food tribute worthy of a full blog post! So today, we share some of our favorite sandwich recipes and menu items featuring foods from our awesome food rebate partners. So grab a napkin and a knife and lets take a bite of some great eats in this week’s sandwich heavy blog!

The Baja BLT

BajaBLT.jpgFor our first tribute to National Sandwich Month, this flavor packed sandwich comes straight from the great minds over at Brakebush! A twist on the traditional BLT, this sandwich combines guacamole, thick cut bacon, Brakebush’s classic Buttermilk Chicken Fillet, pepperjack cheese, romaine lettuce, and tomato on sourdough bread for an impressive looking lunch or dinner treat.

Topped with a sliced jalepeno and serve with a side of chips and salsa for a unique menu item that is sure to please!

Buffalo Cheese Steak Sandwich

cheesestaeak.jpgFans of the classic Philly Cheesesteak will rejoice when they get a taste of this delicious menu item. From the spicy geniuses over at Franks Red Hot Sauce, this Buffalo Cheese Steak Sandwich recipe packs a hot punch for your mouth!

Each sandwich includes sirloin cut into strips, cooked and tossed in Frank's RedHot® Original Buffalo Wings Sauce. Topped with sautéed green peppers and onions and thick slices of provolone, this sandwich is an easy sell and a great alternative to the traditional cheesesteak!

Beer Battered Haddock Sandwich with Creamy Asian Slaw

FishSliders.pngIf you’re thinking this is a traditional haddock sandwich, you’re wrong! This recipe for a crunchy fish sandwich comes from our friends at Highliner Foods.

Beer battered fish cutlets are topped with a deliciously creamy Asian slaw that starts with just a regular coleslaw base. The coleslaw is then enhanced with radishes, green onions, coriander, sesame oil, soy sauce and lime zest to brighten the flavor profile and really bring out the flavor of the fried fish below it! This recipe is sure to be a fan favorite on Fridays an every other day of the week too!

Cheesy Curd Burger

curdburger.jpgA sandwich is defined by Merriam-Webster as “two or more slices of bread or a split roll having a filling in between” which makes burgers one of America’s most popular sandwich. And when it comes to cheeseburgers, there is no better way to top a burger than with delicious fried cheese curds from Curdtown.

Far from your traditional cheeseburger, cheesy curd burgers are a crunchy comfort food option that your customers will love! Take it to the extreme with some slices of thick cut bacon and a side of french fries for a full meal!

Sweet n Salty Slider

Because, what’s a sandwich list if you don’t include at least one ice cream sandwich on it!? This twist on a dessert classic from McCain may have some customers scratching their heads – but within the first bite they’ll regret ever doubting the salty sweet goodness of this slider.

Two McCain® Ultimate® Crispy Coated Skin-On Waffle Fries make the outer layers of the sandwich, inside lies a generous scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and sweet caramel. It’s a menu item that people will love to try and return again to try once more!

Have a happy and delicious National Sandwich Month!!
