Happy National Doughnut Day: Celebrating with AutoFry!

Written by Danielle Fantasia | Jun 2, 2023 1:00:00 PM

What is there to say about doughnuts? Well, how much time do you have? Obviously, like the rest of the world, we love them. How could we not? They come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, flavors, and even colors. All equally delicious in their own ways. All over the world, different cultures have their own versions of doughnuts. From Italy’s Zeppole and Nigeria’s Puff-Puff, to Poland’s Paczki and Brazil’s Bolinhos de Chuva, the doughnut options are endless.

Naturally, we thought the best way to celebrate this tasty holiday is by sharing our favorite recipe for super simple doughnuts in the AutoFry MTI-10X/XL!

Check out the recipe below and give them a try. They are perfect for convenience stores, coffee shops, bars, breweries, cafes, and more!

Ingredients:

  • 1 can refrigerated southern style biscuit dough (16.3 oz. – 8 count)

For the Glaze:

  • 2 cups confectionary sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 5-6 tablespoons milk

Notes: Hold Down Unit must be installed and Shake Feature must be set for 15 second intervals.

Instructions:
  • Remove dough from the can and lay each biscuit flat on a cutting board.
  • Using a 1” cookie cutter, remove the center of the dough to create the classic doughnut shape.
  • Set each doughnut on a parchment-lined cookie sheet with enough space that they won’t touch.
  • Place the cookie sheet into the freezer and leave until frozen (1-2 hours).
  • When ready to cook remove from freezer.
  • Place up to four frozen, raw doughnuts into the food entry chute of the AutoFry MTI-10X/XL and input a cook-time of 3 minutes.
  • Close the food entry chute and press start.
  • When finished the timer will sound and the finished product will dispense out the side exit chute.
  • In a medium sized bowl whisk together the confectionary sugar, salt, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
  • If possible, place doughnuts on a wire, stainless steel, pan grate. This way excess glaze will not pool around the base of the doughnut.
  • Slowly pour glaze over the top of the doughnuts until they are completely covered.
  • Serve them up as is, or with a delectable cup of coffee.

So, what do you think? AutoFry makes it pretty easy, right? Delivering on quality every single time. Plus, the flavor possibilities are practically endless. Try pairing them with a strawberry dipping sauce or a salted caramel drizzle. Turn them into a decadent dessert with the addition of chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. Whatever you decide, we know you are just going to love them.
