The end of Summer is fast approaching, so we thought we would celebrate with one of our favorite Summer menu items, the hotdog! We put together a bit of history, and a tasty AutoFry recipe that we just know you are going to love.
Now, the exact origin is disputed, but it is widely believed that German immigrants played a significant role in popularizing this iconic street food. Sausages, similar to the modern hotdog, were a familiar part of German cuisine. In the 1860s, these sausages, often made from pork and beef, began to appear in buns, likely inspired by the traditional German dish "Frankfurter Wurstchen." The term "frankfurter" itself is believed to have originated from Frankfurt, Germany.
Over time, variations of the hotdog gained popularity across the United States, with regional differences in ingredients and toppings, ultimately making it a quintessential American fast-food staple. Today, there are a million and one ways to serve up a hotdog, so we wanted to share one of our favorite recipes with all of you! We really think this recipe takes these hand-held beauties to a WHOLE DIFFERENT LEVEL, and can’t wait for you to try them for yourselves.
