Happy National Taco Day!

Of all the food holidays, and there’s a lot of them, National Taco Day is definitely near the top of our list of favorites! These delectable handheld delights are perfect for any time of the day. Whether it is sausage and egg tacos for breakfast, or chipotle chicken tacos for dinner, the options are practically endless. Here, at Motion Technology Inc., we enjoy just about any kind of taco, but we thought for this very special holiday we would share with all of you one our favorite twists on an authentic Mexican taco recipe. We used the MultiChef XL to turn traditional Pork Carnitas tacos into a flatbread pizza that is truly delicioso!

So, what exactly is Pork Carnitas?  The word Carnitas, literally means "little meats", and they just happen to be the most tender and savory “little meats” that have ever been created.  This traditional dish originally surfaced in the state of Michoacán, Mexico, and is prepared by braising pork (typically the shoulder or loin) in oil, with herbs and spices until it is tender enough to shred. Served with soft corn tortillas, white onion and cilantro, it is hard to only eat just one!

Alright, now that you are salivating, lets hit you with that flatbread recipe.

Pork Carnitas Flatbread

1 Cup Seasoned and Shredded, Fully Cooked Seasoned Pork Tenderloin (Previously Prepared in the MultiChef XL)

1 Flatbread Pizza Crust (Prepackaged)

1 1/4  Cup Shredded Asadero Cheese

½ Cup Roasted Corn

¼ Cup Black BeansMultiChef

1 Tablespoon Chopped White Onion

1 Tablespoon Chopped Cilantro

1/3 Cup Chipotle Ranch Sauce (Prepackaged)

Top your flatbread pizza crust with chipotle ranch sauce.

Next, sprinkle 1 cup of Asadero cheese over your layer of sauce.

Evenly distribute your shredded pork across your cheese.

Layer with roasted corn and black beans.

Top with remaining 1/4 cup of Asadero cheese

Cook directly on the pizza stone.

Select the pre-programmed Flatbread Recipe, located in the Pizza Category of the MultiChef XL.

The flatbread will only cook for 1 minute and 55 seconds.

When the timer sounds, carefully remove the flatbread using your pizza peel.
