Published by [Danielle Fantasia](https://blog.mtiproducts.com/author/danielle-fantasia) on Oct 29, 2021 9:30:00 AM ![Air Fryer or High-Speed Ovens Is there a Difference 2](https://blog.mtiproducts.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Air%20Fryer%20or%20High-Speed%20Ovens%20Is%20there%20a%20Difference%202.png?width=1500&name=Air%20Fryer%20or%20High-Speed%20Ovens%20Is%20there%20a%20Difference%202.png)Let’s get started with the basics. Like, what exactly is an air fryer? Well, according to [Merriam-Webster](https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/air%20fryer), an air fryer is an *airtight, usually small electrical appliance for quick cooking of foods by means of convection currents circulated rapidly by a fan.* Now, if you ask us, that sounds an awful lot like a highspeed oven. So, is there a difference? Well, if you ask us, not really! At [MTI](http://www.mtiproducts.com), we know a thing or two about high-speed ovens. In fact, after over thirty years in the equipment game, we like to think of ourselves as somewhat experts on the subject. So, when we really get into the nitty-gritty of it all, we can see that air fryers use the same technology as our line of [MultiChef™](http://www.multichef.com)ovens. They both produce the same end result, just go by different names.![MultiChef & Waffle Fries](https://blog.mtiproducts.com/hs-fs/hubfs/MultiChef%20%26%20Waffle%20Fries.png?width=279&name=MultiChef%20%26%20Waffle%20Fries.png) Both the MultiChef XS and [MultiChef XLT](https://multichef.com/MultiChef-XLT.php) use a cooking combination that includes a bottom IR element, high temperatures, impinged/pressurized air, and microwave. This mix of heating technologies allows our ovens to deliver perfectly prepared products in no time at all. So, if you are in the market for a commercial-sized air fryer, but aren’t sure where to start, you may want to try looking into high-speed ovens. Simply find a convenient location in your kitchen, plug in, and get cooking. It is that simple. Now, if it is a deep fryer that you are after, one that uses actual oil, we can help with that too! Our line of ventless fryers allows businesses to add fried food to their menus without the expensive costs of adding a hood system. Bottom line? If you are an owner or operator looking for a commercial size air fryer, make sure high-speed ovens like our MultiChef are at the top of your list.
