One of the BEST food holidays is just around the corner, and you don’t want to miss out on this opportunity to boost sales. Wednesday, June 22nd is National Onion Ring Day, which means the time to start brainstorming menu ideas is now! Onion rings are not only delicious, but they are also extremely versatile. On their own, or on top of a sandwich, these crispy “o” shaped delights can be so much more than just a side item. Now, we love coming up with new ways to play with our food, so we just had to put together the perfect list of menu items to help owners and operators kick off this festive day. Check out our Top 3 picks below and try them out for yourself! **Loaded Onion Rings** You will want extra crispy rings for this fun appetizer. Load up your onion rings with melted cheese, bacon bits, chopped jalapeno peppers and a drizzle of ranch for an unreal flavor combination. Your guests won’t be able to resist. Feel free to try other toppings too. You’re only limited by your own creativity! **Onion Ring Flatbread Pizza** Onion rings on a pizza? Don’t knock it until you try it! Instead of a traditional red sauce, we use an onion ring dipping sauce as our base, made with mayonnaise, ketchup, horseradish, paprika and Worcestershire. From there we layer on freshly fried rings, mozzarella cheese, and chopped parsley. Serve this masterpiece as a shareable or entrée. **Pastrami & Onion Ring Sandwich[![Roast beef & Onion Rings](https://blog.mtiproducts.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Roast%20beef%20%26%20Onion%20Rings.png?width=288&name=Roast%20beef%20%26%20Onion%20Rings.png)](http://www.mtiproducts.com)** There has never been two flavors that compliment each other as well as pastrami and deep-fried onion rings do. The juiciness of the pastrami and the crunchy bite from the onion rings make this work of art stand out amongst all other sandwiches. We like to use a buttered brioche bun for our bread, and Swiss is our cheese of choice. We also highly recommend adding some lettuce, tomatoes and pickles for a bite of freshness.    There you have it, our Top 3 Menu Items for National Onion Ring Day. Sometimes the best way to implement new food options is with reliable kitchen equipment that’s easy to operate. [Automatic deep-fryers](http://www.autofry.com) and [high-speed ovens](http://www.multichef.com) are exactly that, and with them you can consistently serve up quality to your customers. Now, June 22nd is coming up quick, so head to the kitchen and get to work testing out these tasty offerings.
